Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Greek low-fat yogurt
  • 1 cucumber grated
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons dried dill or 4 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground rose petals optional - available in specialty stores
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, and dried or fresh mint.
  • Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  • Season with salt and pepper according to taste.
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

Mast-o Khiar is served alongside many Persian dishes often beautifully decorated with dill, rose petals, raisins, and walnuts. I also enjoy this dish on it's own, paired with a few toasted pita triangles for a light, refreshing dinner.
